Understanding the Moovit Update Process: Overnight Loading for Edited Content
We've all been there – making changes to a project in the Moovit editor, eager to see the changes go live. Let's walk through what happens once you've made an edit and how Moovit ensures the quality of those updates.
How Do Edits Work in Moovit?
Moovit is committed to maintaining a high standard of accuracy and user-friendliness in our service. When you make an edit, it undergoes a moderation process. This is where our dedicated team steps in to review and ensure that the proposed changes meet our quality bar.
The Overnight Update: Patience is a Virtue
- Moderation in Action: Once you click "save" on your edit, it enters the queue for moderation. Our moderators diligently review changes, considering several factors like user level and the nature of the edit.
- The Timing: Once your moderations are approved, an overnight update will be performed and the changes will be visible in the app by morning.
Note: To make the approval process faster and easier, please add the source information for your edits (this can be a link, page, photos, notes, etc.).
- Why Overnight? Quality takes time. Our overnight process ensures that your edits are seamlessly integrated without disrupting the user experience. While it might take a bit longer, it's for the best – ensuring that all information is accurate and reliable.

Now, what tasks can we perform in the editor while a loading is in progress?
When an update is in progress, you will see a message indicating the estimated time it will take for the process to complete.
What tasks can I do during a loading?
*You can edit Service Alerts.
*You can add Short term changes; however, it will not appear until the loading is complete.
*You can edit stops, but the edits will not be reflected until the loading is complete.
What tasks can't I do during the update?
*You can't edit the line numbers.
*You can't edit agency names.
*You can't edit pathways/entrances
IMPORTANT: Keep in mind that once you "Save", further editing will be locked, and you won't be able to make additional changes. Therefore, we recommend clicking "OK" until the end and then clicking "SAVE".
