Moovit-Pango's Validating method, formulated by the Ministry of Transport, requires knowing your location and destination, in order to calculate the ride fare - single rides, as well as daily and monthly passes.
Due to GPS disruptions in the past few months, you may have had trouble validating your rides, according to the Ministry's requirements.
To allow you to validate your rides and travel confidently in transit options that require location, we've added some helpful changes:
Paying for Israel Railways and light rail rides: Manually select entry and exit stations
Rail rides are based on your location when arriving at your entry and exit station, and the app usually detects them automatically. However, determining which stations you've passed through in areas without accurate location services becomes impossible.
Therefore, if you've started your ride in a station affected by GPS disruptions, you'll need to select your entry station manually. Parallely, if' your exit station is affected, you will need to manually choose your exit station once you’re off the train. This will allow you to present your ride validation (QR code) for inspection, and allow us to calculate your ride fare.
Validating bus rides: Select ride distances and areas
Bus payments are based on scanning QR codes on the bus. Usually, the app shows all possible bus line, based on your location. The fare is calculated based on the distance traveled and the areas covered. However, we can't determine which bus line you've boarded, and which stop you've got off at if the GPS services are unavailable. As a result, we can't calculate your individual ride fare or your monthly daily passes.
The Ministry of Transport has determined several areas for calculating ride fares"
Zone 1 VAT Free - Eilat and the Arava
Zone 1 - Selected areas in the Negev and the Galilee and everywhere outside the three major metropolitan areas
Zone 2 - Major metropolitan areas

To address this, the Ministry of Transport requires passengers in areas with GPS disruptions to select their intended travel distance and boarding and disembarking areas after scanning the QR code. For instance, if you're traveling from Rehovot to Tel Aviv, select "Up to a 40 km ride from Metropolitan to Metropolitan." This indicates a ride distance within 40 km, with both the origin and destination areas classified as Metropolitan. This ride will be added to your other bus rides in area 2, until it reaches the monthly bus pass limit of 236 ILS.
Another example: If you're riding inside Beer Sheva - up to 15 km, select "Up to a 15 min ride inside Zone 1 - Periphery". This ride will be added to your other bus rides in area 1 up to a 40 km radius, until it reaches the 104 ILS monthly pass limit, as stated by the Ministry of Transport.
