Moovit’s editor identifies possible shape issues for trips in your project. To see and fix shape issues, you can go to the Shape Issues tab, where you will see all existing shape issues for your project.
The editor lists the shape issue by segment and will identify:
- The type of Shape Issue
- The number of Departures affected
- The number of Trips affected.
Where to find the shape issues tab?
- Go to the drop-down menu by clicking your user name in the top right corner.
- Click on Shape Issues in the drop-down menu.
Which Shape Issues are there?
The editor identifies four types of shape issues:
- Has Spikes - The shape segment makes an unnecessary detour.
- Off Stop - The shape is too far from the stop.
- Invalid Break - The shape includes: segments that don’t connect, a segment that consists of only 1 point, or a shape that goes back and forth for no reason.
- No Shape - The shape segment is missing.
Looking for a specific Shape Issue?

How to fix a Shape Issue?
- Click on Details. A pop-up will appear with details about the Trips affected by the selected Shape Issue.

- Even though you are working on a specific trip, all trips that include that segment will be fixed!
