These days, social distancing is an important part of our lives and is essential for our safety. Public transit riders are looking for a solution to help them keep socially distanced while on the go. Now you can see how crowded your station/next bus are, based on real-time reporting, and even let other riders know how crowded the station is with just a tap.
Know whether or not your station/next bus will be crowded based on user reports from within the last 10 minutes (when available).
On the Station View screen, you will see how crowded your station is, based on user reports from within the last 10 minutes.
Four crowdedness levels will be displayed:
- Not crowded
- A little crowded
- Crowded (will be displayed in red)
- Very Crowded (will be displayed in red)
On the Station View/Itinerary/Route Preview screens, you can see how crowded your next bus is, based on user reports from within the last 10 minutes.
Three crowdedness levels will be displayed:
- Seats available
- Standing only
- Very Crowded (will be displayed in red)
You can also help other riders know how crowded the station is by easily reporting crowdedness levels by yourself:
Report crowdedness status:
On the Quick Actions Bar, tap on the “Report” icon at the bottom of the screen, tap on “Report crowdedness status”, and choose the relevant status for a route or a station, which will be displayed to all users following your report.
Confirm crowdedness status:
If the crowdedness level displayed is correct, confirm that it is still relevant by tapping on the checkmark sign. When that happens, the timestamp will be updated to “Now”, and your report will be immediately reflected to all users.
Update crowdedness status:
If the crowdedness level displayed is not relevant anymore, click “X” and then select the updated status. Once you confirm or update the status, your report will be immediately reflected to all users.
